Conservation - Designs to Support Species Diversity in Copenhagen Food Forest

The Municipality of Copenhagen commissioned Habeetats to design and customize 4 large solitary bee nests for an Urban bee conservation project at Byskoven Amager Faellede in 2020.

31 species of solitary bees were identified at Byskoven in a study conducted by University of Copenhagen in 2018. Byskoven is an urban nature reserve and public food forrest. Several of these species are rare e.g Hyalus pectoralis, so Habeetats naturally helped the city develop nests to propagate their numbers.
